The End of the Road – Already?

MLB Dugout Heroes has announced that they will be closing out the game here in North America around the middle of February, 2012. So, just as I was beginning to get a notion of what I was doing, I have erased my team and the program and all the rest that goes with it. The good news is that there is another identical game on a server in Korea, where the developers are located; the bad news is that it is entirely in Korean and requires something apparently called a “KSS” to sign up for it. Ah, well, I’ll find something else to fill this blog up with. I was doing well with the Grackles, too; 6 – 19 heh heh.

How Is It Goin’?

Well, Grackles have played their first three games and, no suprise, lost all three. First two were three-inning games against higher level Rookie teams and the third was a nine-inning match against an Amateur team. All of the humans were more experienced with the game than I, but that’s okay, as I held my own until I lost focus and got in a hurry. Besides, I had a great time playing and now my team is level 2. Of course, I mishandled the pitcher rotation so will have to be very careful my next full game to avoid losing because my pitchers are all too tired! Good fun and I’m learning how to use the game program, slowly but surely. One of the drawbacks of many games these days – even those from major developers and publishers! – is that the documentation is next to useless or non-existant. Ah, well, all part of the fun; right?? More later.

We’re the Grackles

I’m playing online baseball in a nice sim that appears to be authorized by the MLB folks. It’s called MLB Dugout Heroes Online Baseball Game. I’ll be posting various images, screenshots, rosters, game results, box scores and the like. The idea is to have a look at my team as I go through the process of creating, managing and playing a baseball sim team. My team is called “Grackles” and it is based on the Baltimore Orioles in their ’60′s and on incarnation.
